ATI Radeon HD 5870.

Post by Admin on Sun 1 Nov 2009 - 19:08

Hello Smile

Graphics cards, almost more than any other PC component appear to play leapfrog.
One week it's nVidia, the next ATI.
I would like to suggest to anyone considering looking at a an excellent gaming card.
Check the ATI Radeon HD 5870.
The spec & reviews so far imply that this is the one.

Until the x2 version or nVidia come out with something. Duh!

Doesn't Intel have nVidia tied up in some legal mumbo jumbo preventing them from releasing their next offering? I've been using ATI for a while, but I like having the two compete...

Hi Smile
Me too.
Although I usually go with ATI.
Competition is good in terms of the end product.
Just wish ATI were better at sorting out their drivers.

I have both ATI and nVidia cards. I have had no trouble with nVidia, but have had some issues with ATI drivers. Nothing to warrant not using them...just enough to notice. It really depends on the timing of the build, pricing and availability for me. I really have no preference.

Overall personally speaking , ATI just does enough to hold the title. Great cards , though there prices are starting to rise it seems.

5870 is out of my price range though. DOH
