Pioneer BDR-S03

Post by Admin on Sun 10 Jan 2010 - 18:47

Hello Smile
Recently started backing up of my Bluray discs.
Method,
Rip to Image with AnyDVD (HD).
This produces an iso file that can then be mounted using Slysoft's vitual drive.
The file can then be accessed/played like any other disc.
My backups thus far have been to DVD DL media.
Using the free (you should feel guilty about not donating) BD Rebuilder beta.
Time varies from about 7 hours upwards.
Depending on what choices are made.
For backups I always go movie only.
Then write the end files to DVD DL using the free (again you should be on a guilt if not donating) ImgBurn.

Pioneer have managed in my experience to produce consistantly good drives.
The S03 is a great drive following this tradition.
It was used to rip/burn this backup.
The result measured using CD/DVDSpeed.
A Lite-On iHOS104 used for scanning.

Unsupported file is because it is BD files still.

This media gives very mixed results, yet my Pioneer is consistent with burn speed up to 6x.

The spike produced at the layer break should not be seen as significant.

Just shows how slow a reader this Lite-On is. Wink

Thanks for sharing the scans. Always nice to see this side of things in my book.
