CoD: Modern Warfare 2.
Hi
Well Call of Duty:
Modern Warfare 2 is now out there.
Anybody here tried it?
I am still struggling with the type of games they released on floppy disks!

Haven't tried it yet but stood in a Q at asda from midnight till 1am this morning to get it for my son's birthday - good bit cheaper than other sources - might get a shot of it once he gets it but wouldn't count on it
Re: CoD: Modern Warfare 2.
I have been playing this quite a bit and really am enjoying the game. The challenges, unlocks and perk system is really well done. If you like run and gun, this is the game for you. If you like tactical shooters, skip.

I've been playing the heck out of EA NHL 10 on the PlayStation3... Of course a friend of mine wants me to get Call of Duty MW2 for online play so I may at some point.

I picked it up, tried it... I suck... of course I dove right into online play without knowing how to control anything. Not fun so far. Not sure it is the type of game for me. Rated "M"... gotta hide it from the kids.

All I can say is try the campaign before you get rid of it. That will plant the seed. Do "normal" difficulty. No need to prove anything there. When you go back to MP, the challenges for each weapon are the key to advancement.
As you complete challenges, you get valuable XP to level up and unlock more desirable weapons. I have played a fair amount of MP and still am not very good, but am having a good time. Once you start to level and unlock some cool weapons, the game becomes very fun.
All that being said, if it isn't for you, it isn't for you. I will say that I hated fast paced shooters before this game. Gears of War, Rainbow Six and Ghost Recon were more my style. However, I forced myself to play this game because of one simple truth. As I made slow steady improvement in MW2, I noticed fairly dramatic improvement in the slower paced tactical shooters. Faster reaction times, improved aim and general awareness are some of the key things that I have seen improvement in since playing MW2. I look at it more as "training" for other games. At some point along the way, it started becoming a lot of fun.

Don't worry SavageNFS... I'll give it some more playing time at some point... I'm in Hockey mode right now... Gold Medal game tomorrow between Canada and the U.S. Should be a heck of a game. Canada is on a roll since last Sunday and team U.S.A. has improved as well.
My problem with MF2 is the "M" rating and I have kids... don't want to play it around them. Not sure why it is "M" rated, but with two young girls in the house you can never be too careful.

Re: CoD: Modern Warfare 2.
I understand with kids. I have three of them and 2 are future gamers for sure. I am pretty fortunate...we have multiple places to game in our home. This kids play in the living room and I have a separate set-up in my home office. This way the kids never see me playing any shooters or what I view inappropriate for them. MW2 definitely falls into the M rating for the blood and gore, as well as language.
