I enjoy SciFi myself... Really enjoyed the latest Star Trek flick.

I liked the latest Star Trek movie myself, wasn't sure with the whole alternate timeline thing.
Serenity was excellent! Firefly was an okay series, not my favorite though.

I think the missus and one of the daughters enjoyed Serenity. Not sure on Firefly . Pretty sure she said it was only ok.

Well the alternate timeline is what made the new crew plausible and allowed for the two Spocks to meet each other.. and it wouldn't be classic Star Trek without alternate time lines.. who knows how many alternate realities there are!!! What a Face

I liked Serenity, but unless a person watched Firefly they really wouldn't get a lot out of Serenity.

I watched enough out of Firefly to get the plot and story for serenity, which just seemed well put together. I guess I and most Star Trek fans didn't want to see the storyline messed with at all, so Uhura with Spock, Jim losing his Dad early on just would be hard to swallow.
Alternate realities makes for lots of remakes, which DS9 did to death Evil or Very Mad

Yeah.. that's why i hated DS9... I didn't say i wasn't a purist...i just appreciated how they were able to make the plot work and try to get fans to accept the new actors. The new story line did take some time to grow on me though.. i just hated how they included the old Spock to try adn tie things together. I felt it was unnecessary to have him as involved in the story as he was.

Funny story, I had a yard sale with a local family, and the husband was a purist. I'm not but have a hard time with radical change (Enterprise anyone). Anyways, he felt it was incomprehensible to change it, hard to follow, etc. So I came into the movie thinking I was going to hate it. But they did a good job, and now I own a copy!

hahaha that is hysterical!!! Yeah.. I didn't know what i was going to think going into the movie! My ex took my copy so i had to go buy another copy since my son wanted to watch it!! Lost a lot of things a few months ago.. sigh. Anyway, My little boy adores Star Trek along with Doctor Who!!! It truly blows me away that my little 5yr old loves what i love!!! Enterprise was a good show.. I hated some fo the characters at first until they really began to develop the characters. That show didn't bother me because it was to be the forerunner to the TOC series.. some inconsistencies i do believe but ah well... i still loved it.. then it got cancelled!! Damn! One of those shows that never gets a proper series ending. A pet peeve of mine.

All great movies listed here.

My favorite has a great, realistic view of the future, Harrison Ford fighting against and "killing" human looking androids, and accidently falling in love with a beauty.

Blade Runner. The 1080p BD looks and sounds quite nice.

Not a bad movie, own two different copies. Been getting the graphic novel "Do Androids Dream" because the story behind the movie is so compelling.

Some of the recent ones have been quite good, but I still go back

Can't remember I've said it before, but 'Shooter' is a ripper. Mark Wahlberg starring.
