Free Firewall Software
Here are a couple of Firewalls that can be used as an alternative to the build in MS Firewall.
#1
Comodo Firewall - This also has AV software but you can select to only install the Firewall during the installation process.
#2
Zonealarm - be sure to click the download link on the left for the free version.

Re: Free Firewall Software
I am trying a new one on the netbooks we have in the house called Tall Emu Online Armor... They have a free firewall as well as paid versions... Right now, trying the 30-day trial... So far it seems to be easier to use than Comodo ever was and does not bog down the netbook like Comodo did.
The big drawback is that it is 32-bit only at the moment but reading their forums, a 64-bit version is coming soon (how soon though?)
Only had it installed for about a day so far... works good. Certainly cheaper than Kaspersky... not sure I want to invest in that for a couple of netbooks.

Running a mix at the moment, the kids are running Comodo whilst I'm running McAfee which I get through BT Broadband - figured if it was the full shilling it would be good to install but every so often it quarantines some of my DVD software (archived .EXE files) - so beginning to think about dumping and installing something else.
Re: Free Firewall Software
Gents... I am really liking Online Armor... purchased a license today for my Samsung netbook, keeping the free on my daughters Asus Eee netbook.
(Hint - register the free version and they will send you a coupon code for the pay version for 50% off)
I was always a big fan of Comodo, but it bogged down the netbook (probably the Defense+ piece I was never fond of). Tall Emu Online Armor free did not.

Looking forward to the 64-bit release... May try it out on one of my desktop PC's.

Re: Free Firewall Software
Hello
Had a look SithTracy & it does seem a good one.
Just the lack of 64 bit rules it out for me........ For now ................
