Liverpool, what is going on?
Hi
Tonight Liverpool dropped out of the Champions league.
On current form (I know they have injuries), the only way is down.
At least that's how it looks.
Tonight despite winning 1-0, their performance was somewhat limp!
How can Rafa stay in the job much longer?

Re: Liverpool, what is going on?
I agree , Its going to be a hard time for him to sit on the bench and work through this. Its the whole potential impact this has too. Rafa needed money , dropping out of the CL will lose huge revenue for starters. As Zeb mentioned there form is poor. They are very beatable. So are they even able to qualify for the champions league next year by finishing fourth. ? At this moment i think not. ! !
Did you also see the TV coverage of the Liverpool players watching the other game for the result.
When the final whistle went and Liverpool's fate was decided , Steven Gerrard looked like he was about to cry.
Who can the clib bring in now if Rafa were to leave ?

Re: Liverpool, what is going on?
I don't think they can afford to pay Rafa off so they are stuck with him. Unfortunately the Premier league is more about who has the biggest pockets. When you get to the stage where the top teams have more money sitting on the bench than the total amount spent on a whole team at the bottom of the division there is only one way to go. The ridiculous effort to keep bringing in the big two from Scotland says a lot for the state of the game.

you can have them - but the usual 14day returns policy is not valid for this transaction
At least we (Liverpool) are still in Europe - unlike one of the big two from Scotland
oops - think I might have just given away where my allegiance lies down south

Not confused at all.

Been a 'pool fan since the mid 70's - just that they have not done so well over the last few years (well not in the league anyway).
football or any other sport for that matter is a funny thing. you go out and ask kids these days who they support and you know M.U probably will be top of that list (followed by the gunners) - same with the Scottish teams - it will be one of the "big" 2.
There are less people now following their local team or going against the flow

Re: Liverpool, what is going on?
Well I am Aston Villa here , Living in / near London it seems that i am the one who is confused.

Hello
Liverpool continue to show little appetite for the title.
Another mind numbing draw.

Hi
Liverpool play today.
Will they show more of a winning attitude I wonder.
They have been poor of late.

Hello
You'd think.
But he does seem to manage to keep most fans onside.
He's looking for another handout, to buy some striker.
If he gets his way, perhaps he'll get a fit one.

Re: Liverpool, what is going on?
lmao ! ! !
Yeah would be helpful to them. Actually give Torres time to recover fully from his injuries rather than playing at 80% all the time.

Hello
Yes, well Portsmouth had the worst performing side until this game.
Not only did Liverpool lose.
But their heads are dropping.
A sure sign of a loss of confidence.
Yet Rafa is still there.
On a day when Man City win 4-3 to move above them, yet set their manager Mark Hughes!
What a laugh......................

Re: Liverpool, what is going on?
Yeah , pure madness around.
For me now , although i like Rafa if Liverpool want to change things around he needs to go.
They need a mass overhaul. Too many average players they have brought in. When i was younger they were a quality side and had among the very best in all positions , not just some.
I am happy as it shows Villa a possible shot at the top four. If they maintain the giant killer attitude they have so far.
On another note , Mark Hughes was stabbed in the back big time. To also appoint Mancini immediately after too showed there sneaky workings behind closed doors. I guarentee City do worse with him than Hughes. Mark my words - no pun intended.
