My Current Read....

Post by Vampire Girl on Mon 29 Mar 2010 - 10:04

hahahahaha... that book worm is sooooo cute!!! Hmm let's see the book i am reading right now is a sort of self help tome. It is called "Facing your Giants" by Max Lucado. It is sort of helping me to cope with my personal life situation a bit. It's centered around the story of David and Goliath and Saul.. I would be party David and partly Abigail in the story the way it is presented. I am not particularly super religious, but it is helping me to cope with the stresses i am enduring. I love you

Liked all the harry Potter series.

Just finished reading a Clive Cussler book The Silent Sea. Waiting for his new one, The Spy.
I have read all the Clive Cussler books, find them very enjoyable.

Also like Mathew Reilly, an Ausie Author... the characters are a bit far fetched but a great read.

Like Andy Mcdermott as well. The Hunt for Atlantis, The Tomb of Hercules, The Secret of Excaliber, and The Covenant of Genesis, again a bit far fetched but a good read. Smile

If it wasn't for all these Forums I'd have more time to read.. lol!

My book of the month for April is

Arthur Conan Doyle: "The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes", "The Casebook of Sherlock Holmes", "The Hound of the Baskervilles", "The Valley of Fear", "The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes", "The Return of Sherlock Holmes", "His Last Bow", "A Study in Scarlet", "The Sign of the Four": Complete Illustrated Sherlock Holmes (Collector's Library Omnibus Editions)

It takes a day just to read the title. rotflmao

Ok so everyone knows I like Vampire stories. So one of my favorite authors is Charlaine Harris. She has several supernatural novel series, but her most popular to date is her Sookie Stackhouse Southern Vampire Mysteries Novels.. most notable for the HBO series True Blood which is based off her novels.

This month saw the debut of her most recent release, "Dead in the Family," her 10th installment in her southern vampire series. It definitely gets Vampy Chick's stamp of approval! Twisted Evil

Saw the film 'Blind side' while on a flight the other month so I decided to buy the book. I quite liked it but if you are not into American Football the book will be hard to get into while the film is good regardless of your sporting tendencies.

Was the book better than the movie? I find a lot of times movies made from books are not as good as the original story because sometimes the story gets lost in translation from the pages to the screen.
