Re: What have you done today?
Well it is son's birthday at the weekend and he wants the new Call of Duty game. I would normally order this sort of thing from play.com as they usually have good prices (£10 below retail) but in yesterdays paper there was an advert for the game at £32 (over £20 below retail) so guess what I was up to at midnight when it was officially on sale
yep - you've guessed it - queuing in our local asda for an hour
by the time I got to the front of the Q the X360 version was getting low but I did manage to get one

Re: What have you done today?
Went to the travel agents to get brochures for a trip next spring. Guess what, the ones I wanted do not come in until Thursday. Typical.

Where are you looking at going this time?
Re: What have you done today?
When I was at work I had the opportunity to go to Toronto a couple of times but never had the time spare to check it all out and both times it was winter. I went about 20 years ago but really only did Niagra Falls and the CN tower. This time I want to take my time more. My son and his girlfriend are going too so I don't even have to drive. He is talking Montreal and possibly going across to the USA.
I will have to check out if there are any bottles behind the freeway signs

Re: What have you done today?
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh hh.
It is my lad's birthday on Sunday and he has just come downstairs to tell me his x360 has 3 red lights
feckin MS
oh well - guess who won't be playing modern warfare 2 on his birthday
suspect I will get stitched for a new x360 before tomorrow is finished
I have raised a repair with MS as this problem will be fixed for a 3 yr period after the box starts it's original warranty.... however I didn't find this out until after I had taken the covers off to clean the vents & fans as someone suggested it may be an overheating problem

Re: What have you done today?
well I had a new windscreen fitted to the car today (Lucky it was the works car as it is one of these heated ones with the rain sensors
)
Had a chip in the middle about 3 months ago and got one of the glass companies out who can repair as well as replace but he couldn't due to the damage not being bad enough. Last Friday I noticed that the chip had spread about 1/2cm (probably due to the cold) and as you do poked the inside of the screen where the chip was (no great force applied) and the thing just cracked almost right the way across

Hi all ,
Been working so hard of late , barely had a second to myself. See you are all busy here and that's great to see.
Wednesday is a me and the boy day. Should be on and off through the day.

Re: What have you done today?
You boys need to be more aware of your surroundings and not get caught out.
Ever see a Black BMW doing 130mph past you , well that could have been me.
Clean license for last 30 years, never had a speeding ticket in 38 years, and we all speed.
I must be just lucky.

It doesn't help when they hide behind bridges. Not that they are trying to catch you out. Wouldn't mind but the road was empty, no pedestrians, no cars, just plod.

That is always the case
The one & only time I've been unlucky was on a backroad from A96 to oldmeldrum - late at night, dark & dry but they were sitting hiding in the trees/farm track.

Re: What have you done today?
Hi
This speeding thing can vary from area to area.
Some areas are just down right sneaky.
Also how many miles.
(I do around 40,000 + a year).

Re: What have you done today?
I used to do approximately 50.000 a year when I was a trucker (33 years)
Now I'm probably down to around 6.000.
I am trying to reform myself and not speed. A hard thing to do.

I got stopped on my motor bike like that but the guy let me off with a warning, I think it was the grey hair that did it.

Could be true but one thing is sure I will never match them for money now that who knows who has bought them. I could do with one of Sven's girls on my arm sometime too. (Not that I could remember what to do with one.)

Everywhere was cold, windy & wet today with plenty of snow on the hills

Re: What have you done today?
just back from our local Asda.
Whilst driving the correct way up a one-way part of the car park I came upon a car driving the wrong way down the one-way section.
This Car had learner plates on it.... in fact it had the Learner school thingy on the roof, but there was no learner driver in the car, just the instructor
I wound down my window & point out the one-way arrow on the road & the signs at the top of the road but they hadn't noticed them
If this is how instructors drive then what hope have the youngsters they are trying to teach??
