Google Chrome Beta (Freeware): Updates

Post by zebadee on Sat 7 Nov 2009 - 22:19

Hi Smile
Not one I use much (if at all).
You can only use one at a time. Smile
But as we are all different.
This could be the one for you.

"Google Chrome is a browser that combines a minimal design with sophisticated technology to make the web faster, safer, and easier.

One box for everything

in the address bar and get suggestions for both search and web pages.

Thumbnails of your top sites

Access your favorite pages instantly with lightning speed from any new tab.

Incognito mode

Don't want pages you visit to show up in your web history? Choose incognito mode for private browsing.

Safe browsing

Google Chrome warns you if you're about to visit a suspected phishing, malware or otherwise unsafe website."

Hello Smile
It is what works for you.
A lot of folk go with FF cause it is scaled down.
But then add all the bits to personalise it.
The end result is the same.
Bloated s/w.
I go for bloat from the start.

I use this browser sometimes, it has been very fast for me, and although I use FireFox, I just might change to this. I have 3 browsers installed, Chrome, Firefox, and IE8. Out of all I think I like Firefox3 the best but Chrome is slowly becoming better and recommended by some of the big PC rags here in the USA.

I tried it early on and was not fond of it... I'm hooked on Firefox, but it does look like Google is maturing it... after all, they probably have more money to throw at the development of it. Might give it another look in the near future.

I've been running this on the laptop for a few days now and I like the speed at which it starts up. still early days but I do miss the add-ons that you can use on FF (not the glitzy ones but the ones that are functional Laughing )

I would but there are 1 or 2 work sites need IE and we are advised they won't provide support for IE8 yet (WTF) so if I upgrade and it all goes smelly then tough - i'm on my own to fix it lol!

Google Chrome 5.0.360.4 Beta

Post by bubbles19 on Wed 31 Mar 2010 - 23:49

Another update to Google Chrome (Beta) Very Happy

http://www.filehippo.com/download_google_chrome/download/4cf563f72fb705066fed5b8a88d31c47/

This release includes:

* An integrated Adobe Flash Player Plug-in. We're integrating Adobe Flash Player 10.1.51.95 (10.1 beta 3) with Google Chrome so that you don't have to install it or worry about keeping it up-to-date. To use the bundled Flash Player plug-in, add --enable-internal-flash to your command line or shortcut for starting Google Chrome.
* A basic plug-in manager. The about:plugins page now lets you disable any plug-in from loading on all web pages.
